Overview

This two-day intensive workshop provides a technique-focused programme in contemporary canine ultrasound-guided regional anaesthesia, combining focused teaching with extensive cadaver-based practical training and high procedural exposure.

Designed to build and refine procedural competence, the workshop allows delegates to practise a broad range of techniques, including epidural approaches, using canine cadaveric models under the guidance of leading clinicians in the field.

Delegates seeking structured teaching on case selection, clinical indications, decision-making and procedural planning are encouraged to complete the Foundational CURA Workshop first.

Intended audience

Designed for veterinary surgeons in general practice, as well as specialists and specialists-in-training in disciplines where regional anaesthesia and perioperative analgesia are clinically relevant, including anaesthesia and analgesia, emergency and critical care, and pain management.

It is particularly suited to veterinarians with previous experience in ultrasound-guided regional anaesthesia who wish to improve technical confidence and procedural competence through extensive supervised practical training.

Delegates wishing to first consolidate the theoretical foundations, clinical decision-making and procedural planning of canine ultrasound-guided regional anaesthesia may find the Foundational CURA Workshop a more appropriate starting point.

Learning objectives

By the end of the course, delegates will be better equipped to:

Refine ultrasound image acquisition, sonoanatomical recognition and needle guidance across the techniques covered

Expand their range of regional anaesthesia techniques across peripheral nerve, fascial plane, paravertebral and epidural approaches

Integrate the techniques covered into clinical practice with greater confidence across a wider range of clinical scenarios
